Beat Discover — BPM finder
Upload a song to find its tempo. If the BPM changes, you will see each section; select any part to measure it.
If it feels twice as fast or as slow, use ×2 or ÷2: it applies to every result.
Import the MIDI file into your DAW (Reaper, Logic, Cubase, Studio One, FL Studio…) and its grid follows the song.
Drag on the waveform to select a part (or use the handles, the boxes or "Measure" on a row), then press Analyze.
Frequently asked questions
How does it find the BPM?
It looks for the moments where new sound appears (drum hits, strums, notes), finds how often they repeat and follows the beat through the song. Every second gets its own tempo estimate, so tempo changes show up as separate sections.
Why does it say half or double the tempo I expected?
A song at 170 BPM can also be counted at 85: both fit the same beat. The detector picks the most likely one; if it feels twice as fast or as slow, press ×2 or ÷2.
Is my song uploaded anywhere?
No. The audio is decoded and analyzed inside your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
How accurate is it?
With a steady beat it is usually within a few tenths of a BPM. Songs played live drift a little, so each section shows the average. Turn on the metronome click to check it by ear.
